Can I keep the fish I catch?

Of course! Every fish you catch is yours, as long as it's legal. Please note that there are open and closed seasons for some species, as well as minimum size requirements. These regulations can change from time to time. Your Captain and crew will have the latest information available.

Will I be able to tell the difference between fresh caught fish fillets and the frozen fish at the grocery store?

Nothing compares to a fresh fish fillet, prepared on the same day it was caught. And, if you are not in the mood for cooking, there are a number of local restaurants that will gladly prepare your catch for you, in a variety of ways. Trust me. You'll never want another frozen fish stick after this.

What types of fish can I catch?

Common catches include red grouper, gag grouper, triggerfish, sea bass, mangrove snapper, and gray snapper. Less common catches include sharks, hogfish, mackerel, and flounder. But, in the Gulf of Mexico, anything is possible, and occasionally we are surprised by a particularly rare catch.

What is available during a trip?

We'll provide all the tackle you need, rods and reels, bait and fishing license. Parking passes are available in the bait store at Merry Pier. We'll help you land any fish, as well as answer any questions. Once we're back on the Pier, we'll fillet your catch for you. And you can get a picture with the day's catch.

Is Miss Pass-A-Grille available for private charters?

Absolutely! We cater to reunions, family gatherings, company outings and more. We can provide sightseeing, dolphin watching, sunset cruises, private fishing adventures and more. Let us tailor a package to fit your needs. Just give us a call today. We'll have a few questions, and will be able to offer a quote.

How should I dress for a trip?

That, of course, depends on the season and the weather. But, this is a fishing boat. Most dress comfortably for the temperature, and you won't find much in the way of fancy clothes aboard. Remember to bring sun screen! And, if the wind is high, please call ahead to make sure we're good to go.
